About us
Youth for Nepal (YFN) is a non-profit organization that mobilizes the youth of Nepal - teenagers and young adults - to participate in various awareness and development programs all over the country. YFN is committed to creating a better Nepal through growth and development in the fields of education, environment and health. YFN aspires to act as a unifying force for all people who seek a brighter future for Nepal.
How does YFN operate and why?
Given the current political and economic situation of Nepal , there is a strong need for the entire population to unite and build a healthy nation. YFN strives to be an active contributor to such efforts by soliciting the services of all people with an affinity for Nepal in the development and rebuilding of the nation.
YFN encourages and mobilizes children and young adults who are still in school or college to actively participate in various volunteer activities and fundraising programs. This structure is beneficial for two reasons - it motivates the youth of today to foster a brighter future by improving their present surroundings and it sidesteps various operational costs and limitations imposed by a full-time work-force.
Even though the majority of YFN projects will be targeted towards projects involving children, YFN expects to participate in various adult-focused programs for community development. YFN intends to work with other organizations in the profit and non-profit sectors to initiate and implement a multitude of programs to this end.
Our Objectives:
YFN works in the fields of education, environment and health to further the following causes throughout Nepal:
- Develop the infrastructure at resources-deprived educational and healthcare institutions
- Increase literacy amongst underprivileged children and adults
- Raise awareness about environmental issues and implement grassroots-level environmental programs
- Increase knowledge of basic health and sanitation issues in the community
- Devise vocational projects to reduce the burden of operational costs on donations, while staying true to YFN’s mission
